So as Christmas is drawing nearer have you any thoughts about what your having for dinner? Is it a traditional meal, something fresh and new or do you simply just go out? Have you begun your shopping list, do you know what you'll be bringing if your not hosting ,yet are helping to provide? If not well happy planning, if so you are way ahead of the game congrats for that.
As for me and my house well hmmm. We typically celebrate with family on Christmas Eve and have had Fondue or even Lasagna. We've tossed around various things through the years not really doing anything traditional in the least. We usually have a limited amount of time with our loved ones due to work schedules and such so we always try and keep dinner simple. This year will be the same, however still not sure what we'll be having or what the time slot will even be. That will soon be fixed.
This year as we prepare whatever it is we decide the kids will be helping out. They both love to be in the kitchen preparing and cooking food. So by having them help this year not only do they get to work on their cooking techniques , and reading recipes. they also get to compare and let others taste their love and hard work they put into food. Can't wait to enlist their help and see what they come up with.
We have carried on many traditions with just our little family for Christmas day. We have homemade Cinnamon Rolls, Egg Casserole, Juice, and coffee. For lunch its typically finger type foods, and for dinner we have Fondue. The love of family and food is very evident in our house.
So do you have helpers in the kitchen? Do you like helpers in your kitchen or do you prefer to do it yourself? Have you ever thought about having helpers? What are your plans for this special dinner?
Blessings,
Mandy
