Holy week is a very busy time of year for us. With choir practices, church services on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, then we begin our Easter Celebrations on Saturday with a few family members, and on Sunday with even more family members. So yes, last week was quite a week.
Sadly, we missed Maundy Thursday service due to Austin having baseball practice but we still had our yearly discussion and remembrance of the importance of the event. Friday's service is always a great remembrance of Jesus love for us. The service is so moving, the song choices just really reach out and put all things into perspective.
On Saturday we had a great deal going on that day visiting with family indulging in great food, and wonderful conversation we sadly had to cut our time short due to some other events for the day which I will talk about in another post, later that evening Chloe had stayed home with the animals while Rob and I headed to take Austin to practice and run some errands. Although this day was full of business we wouldn't have missed any of it for the world. For this day was full of many blessings.
Sunday , Easter what a wonderful day cause Our Lord, Jesus Christ has Risen. He's a live . This day began early morning for us. Austin, Chloe and Rob helped with the traditional Easter Breakfast at the church while I met up with the choir for a last minute rehearsal before services began. Austin pulled double duty that day for he also along with a few other students sang a song with the choir during three of the four services. Let me just say as much as I love to do this it is very tiring, who'd have thought standing on your feet for 5 hours and singing could be so exhausting, it is. After the first service I was able to join a few members of my family for some breakfast, then quickly had to get back into sing in the next service. This years Easter Service was amazing, the sermon was incredible. The Pastor, an Intern Pastor, Worship Leader, an Elder, and a few collage students put on a little skit regarding the Resurrection and whether it is real or not, wow it was just incredible. So although the service ran longer then the usual it was well worth it. Now for the rest of our day, some family members had met us at church just as we had been finishing up, we said our hello's, gathered into our cars and headed to our home, where we were to celebrate Easter with the rest of the family. Upon our arrival my Dad was waiting in the driveway my Mom arrived shortly there after. We all chatted for a bit, while waiting for the rest of the family to arrive. Robert had talked with my Dad about one of our current changes that we will be making soon, I will talk more about that on a different post. While I was trying to finish getting things prepared so when the others had arrived we would be ready to go. Finally, they had arrived we could now begin to eating, hiding and hunting for brightly colored eggs, play pin the tale on the bunny and some more great conversation. The day went by pretty well despite the craziness of it all, but we were so glad when we could put up our feet and just
relax.
What did we get from all of this , we got the best of it all, the Lord's saving grace, his mercy , his love, his blessings, and more. Really that is all we need. We look past the craziness and look at his sacrifice and what that means for us as his followers. We look past all the craziness, we give him thanks and praise for dying on that cross and shouldering our burdens. We look past the craziness and look at all the joy , peace, comfort, and strength we have been given. So yes, we can handle a crazy day for one day if we can have all of God's amazing love for us for eternity.
How about the rest of you, how'd you celebrate Easter? What did you love or not love? What would you change if you could change? What was different about this year then the previous years? Please share? Our family , my family would really like to know.
Blessings
