Moving Money Hurdles

A year ago the family and I had been talking about wanting to purchase some property so we could live a more simple life. We all prayed, discussed out pro's and con's , and what we would all need to do in order to make it happen. So we talked with a relator friend of ours, she let us know which lender to talk with and we went from there. We met with the lender to see if we would even qualify. So we gathered all the information he needed and he worked his magic. He informed us that we would be able to qualify but also let us know of some things we would need to take care of first. So our first mission was to pay off a lien , yes a dreaded lien. Anyway, he let us know how much we would also need for a down payment . Wow, what a great deal of saving we would need to do, however we didn't let that discourage us.

We talked some more as a family , we prayed and we prayed asking for God's guidance in this decision making process. As a family we made the decision that we would eat out less, find free or cheaper activities we could do as a family , and began saving money. Let me just say at times this was very challenging for us all. Not being able to really do to much , especially in the fall and winter months where most activities are needing to be indoors, but we got through it. I didn't get my "Starbucks" coffee's so often, Chloe and Austin found creative ways to spend time with their friends, they chose what paid functions they wanted to do, and gave up others. Let me just say that I am so proud of our children. They truly are such a blessing. Living in the world today isn't easy, and wow, the love , the strength, the willingness that my children give and show to others is simple incredible.

We saved and saved for about a year, and now we are at a point where we can pay off that dreaded lien. Lets just say that had its own fair share of problems. When hubby went down to the office to pay it off, they were very busy so they didn't want to take the time to implement into the system correctly. They told my hubby that they would put the whole amount in and that it would take just a week longer for the money to get processed through the system correctly. So he's agreed to it. What's a week , right. Wrong!!!! Now my hubby told me what they had said, I said no, you were supposed to do it the other way. He tells me what happened, I said I don't care you needed to do it the correct way otherwise it may not go through correctly. He said, I needed to get to work, she wasn't going to work with me, she was swamped with wall to wall people . I said it's her job to do it correctly, but okay we'll see what happens. Needless to say it took another month for things to get implemented correctly in there system. Robert, my husband called every week , explaining the importance of this getting done. Finally , they hooked us up with an advocate person, and magically they got things done. Funny how that happens. Anyway, that was a nightmare but Robert learned that he should have made the lady do her job in the first place despite her business, she is there to serve the customer. UGH!!!!

Anyway, finally that debt is paid and we can now begin the process of purchasing a house. We still had a bit more to save, but new we still had a little time before we had to worry about that. So we headed down to the lenders office he prequalified us, told us what we needed and we went from there. Now of course the money saving still continues.....

Stayed tuned for more of our adventures of home buying....

Blessings,
